~ From Our Bar ~
Our bar stock is small and simple, but we have each kind of standard liquor. We have bar brands and call brands, which vary with availability. Simple bar brand mixed drinks are $4.50, and most call brand (simple) mixed drinks are $6.00. Things like Glenlivet and Drambuie are more. Our fancy drinks are also more–but worth it.
As far as our call brands – We’ll always have Bacardi white rum, Jack Daniels, some kind of small batch Bourbon, some kind of mild Canadian whiskey, Tanqueray gin, Glenlivet, and a nice white tequila and vodka.
We also have standard liqueurs–Kahlua, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Amaretto, Fireball, Curacao, Triple Sec, Grand Marnier, Creme de Cocoa, Creme de Menthe, Apple Pucker, and Drambuie. (We buy the Dramuie for our friend Ted, who is usually the only one who orders it. He gets it on the rocks, with a sidecar of fresh ice. But if you’re a Rusty Nail fan, have at it. We’ll rustle up some scotch.)
We have most of the standard mixers and fruit juices–most of the time.
So make up your own drink. We’ll tell you if we have the ingredients. If not, we’ll help you make up something new.
Or, order one of these –
Our specialty cocktails – $7 – $10
Steve’s Railroad Bloody Mary – We were taught this recipe by the almost-retired bartender on a cross country Amtrak train’s lounge car, somewhere in the Great Plains, late at night, about 20 years ago. As memory serves us. The kids were watching a movie in the next car. Let Steve know if you want the horseradish and Tabasco toned down. $8.00
Steve’s Long Island Iced Tea – Oh, yeah. Long and tall, and not a lot of color to it. The perfect remedy from Dr. Steve. $10.00
Highway 12 Blue Neon – Tall, tropical, and fruity–and a wicked color to boot. Bacardi rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, and blue curacao. $7.00
Steve’s Martinis and Missy’s Manhattans – $6 – $10, depending on what you order.
Mm-hmm. Shaken, ice cold and super dry, unless you want it otherwise. Pick your poison. Oh….and don’t forget to finish off your meal with a Chocolatini. Or another dessertini. We make them up as we go along. $7.00 – 8.00
Or try a Gimlet, which was Steve’s mother’s favorite cocktail. We got limes. $6.00
Feeling edgy? Try Steve’s prawntini. Yeah, you heard me. An icy vodka or gin martini with a dash of Tabasco sauce and a nice prawn floating. Grrrr. $9.00
Missy’s Old-Fashioned – Missy’s twist on her father Jack’s favorite drink. A muddle of sugar and lemon with a splash of soda, then a healthy shot of bourbon or whiskey with a dash of bitters and a few drops of sweet vermouth, on the rocks with fresh lemon. $7.00
Missy’s Whiskey Sour – Missy’s twist on her mother Jayne’s favorite drink. Bourbon or whiskey with a muddle of cane sugar and fresh lemon, with lemon juice and orange juice. Served in a tall glass with skinny long straws and topped with a bright red cherry. – $7.00
Cosmopolitan – Super duper power cossie. $8.00
Steve’s Black Russian – 2 to 1 vodka and Kahlua, over rocks. $7.00
Missy’s White Russia – Add a splash of real cream to Steve’s Black Russian. A very rich and mellow tribute to chocolate milk. $7.00
Cinnamon Surprise – in a shot glass or over the rocks. Fireball, Kahlua, and Bailey’s Irish Cream. The ultimate in creamy decadence. $7.00
